April 23: St. George + Free Printable

St. George: A Patron of Courage and Faith

St. George is one of the most well-known saints in Christian tradition, often depicted as a brave knight defeating a dragon. He is the patron saint of soldiers, scouts, and those who seek courage in their faith. His feast day (April 23rd) is a great opportunity to reflect on his unwavering trust in God and his example of bravery. To help children engage with his inspiring story, I’ve created a free St. George coloring page that you can download and print!

Who Was St. George?

St. George was a Roman soldier who lived in the 3rd century. Despite his high rank in the military, he remained faithful to Christ even when it meant facing persecution. According to tradition, St. George refused to renounce his faith and was martyred for his love of God. Over time, his story became a symbol of Christian courage, with the famous legend of him slaying a dragon representing the triumph of good over evil.
