The sacraments are gifts from God that help us grow in faith and holiness. They are visible signs of His grace, strengthening us in our journey as Christians. Each sacrament brings us closer to God and deepens our relationship with Him and His Church.
What Are the 7 Sacraments?
The seven sacraments are divided into three categories:
- Sacraments of Initiation – These sacraments welcome us into the Church and strengthen our faith:
- Baptism – The first sacrament that cleanses us from original sin and makes us members of God’s family.
- Eucharist – The gift of Jesus’ Body and Blood, nourishing our souls and uniting us with Christ.
- Confirmation – The Holy Spirit strengthens us to live out our faith with courage and conviction.
- Sacraments of Healing – These sacraments offer God’s mercy and strength in times of sin or suffering:
4. Reconciliation (Confession) – Through this sacrament, we receive God’s forgiveness when we turn back to Him.
5. Anointing of the Sick – A sacrament of healing that brings comfort and grace to those who are sick or suffering. - Sacraments of Service – These sacraments help us live out our call to serve others:
6. Matrimony – A sacred bond between a man and a woman, united in love and open to God’s plan.
7. Holy Orders – The sacrament through which men are called to serve the Church as deacons, priests, or bishops.

The Sacraments: A Path to Holiness
